Late arrival at Incheon: start from the time you walk out

Your flight lands at Incheon at 10:30 p.m., and you're wondering if anything will still run to your Seoul hotel. Getting from Incheon Airport to Seoul late at night is very doable. If you walk out before about 23:30, a train or a regular airport bus still works. After that, it's a late-night bus, a taxi or a car you booked ahead. Below: what runs until when, what it costs, and the last stretch to your hotel door.

The key word is walk out. Incheon Airport advises allowing 1 to 2 hours after landing for immigration, so a 21:30 landing can easily mean a 23:00 exit.

Before you fly, note three things: your terminal (Terminal 1 or 2 on your ticket; trains leave T2 6 to 8 minutes before T1, buses about 20 minutes before), your luggage, and your hotel's neighborhood, since Myeongdong, Hongdae, Dongdaemun and Gangnam each point to a different bus.

Every option side by side, as departures from T1. Times and fares were checked October 12, 2026; confirm them on airport.kr or the AREX site before you fly.

In plain terms: trains and regular buses cover you until about 23:30. After that you're choosing between a late-night bus to one of a few stops and a door-to-door car.

AREX at night: the last train to Seoul Station isn't the last train

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two kinds of train.

The Express train goes non-stop to Seoul Station (서울역) in 43 minutes from T1. Adult tickets are ₩13,000, and you buy a separate Express ticket before boarding. The last ones leave T2 at 22:40 and T1 at 22:48, reaching Seoul Station at 23:31.

The All-stop train makes stops along the way, including Hongik Univ. (for Hongdae) and Gongdeok. With a prepaid or postpaid transport card the fare is ₩4,750 from T1 to Seoul Station and ₩5,350 from T2. A single-use ticket adds ₩100 plus a ₩500 deposit you get back at your arrival station.

Now the trap. The last all-stop trains that actually reach Seoul Station leave T1 at 23:38 and T2 at 23:32. The later trains, 23:56 from T1 and 23:50 from T2, end at Digital Media City (디지털미디어시티), short of Seoul Station. AREX extended that train to Seoul Station for the Chuseok holiday, so on an ordinary night don't count on it.

In AREX's Chuseok notice, the 23:50 from T2 was due at Seoul Station at 00:57, so the last all-stop trains get you into Seoul after midnight. Before you board, check your station-to-hotel connection in a map app.

Airport limousine buses: most regular routes end around 11 p.m.

"Limousine bus" just means the regular airport coach. The Seoul routes below are numbered 6xxx, and several stop at hotels. Last departures from T1:

  • 6701 (City Hall, Gwanghwamun and Myeongdong hotels): 22:25, ₩18,000
  • 6703 (Gangnam and COEX hotels): 22:55, ₩18,000
  • 6001 (Seoul Station, Myeong-dong, DDP): 23:09, ₩17,000
  • 6015 (Gongdeok, Namdaemun Market, Myeong-dong): 23:19, ₩17,000
  • 6002 (Hapjeong, Hongik Univ., Sinchon, Gwanghwamun, Jongno): 23:29, ₩17,000

From T2, each leaves 20 minutes earlier. Buy tickets at the ticket booths (T1: next to exits 4 and 9 inside, plus booths outside several exits; T2: the bus terminal on B1 of the Transportation Center). Each route's page on airport.kr lists its stops, so find your hotel's name before you land.

Incheon Airport late-night buses: which N bus for your hotel

Once the regular buses stop, four Seoul late-night routes take over, leaving roughly every 30 to 60 minutes. Departures from T1:

  • N6701 (Mapo Stn, Seoul Station, Euljiro Entrance, DDP): 23:50, 00:40, 01:40, 03:45, 04:40. ₩18,000, stop 3B.
  • N6002 (Hongdae, Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Heunginjimun, Cheongnyangni): 00:00, 00:30, 01:00, 01:40, 04:00, 04:40. ₩17,000, stop 6A.
  • N6000 (Songjeong, Yeomchang, Gangnam Express Bus Terminal): 00:10, 00:50, 01:30, 02:10, 03:40, 04:20. ₩17,000, stop 6A.
  • N6703 (Seorae Village, COEX, Jamsil, Gwangnaru): 23:40, 00:20, 01:05, 01:45, 03:50, 04:50. ₩18,000, stop 3B.

At T2, each leaves about 20 minutes earlier, so the first one goes at 23:20. The airport's T2 map puts N6701, N6703 and N6002 at stops 18, 19 and 24 in the B1 bus terminal of the Transportation Center. Buy tickets at the ticket booths or machines. For N6701 and N6703, the airport page also lists the Tmoney GO app.

Your hotel's neighborhood picks the bus; the 2 a.m. gap is when a booked car pays off.

Watch the gap. No late-night bus leaves T1 between 02:10 and 03:40, or T2 between 01:50 and 03:20. If your exit lands in that window, a car you booked ahead is the safer plan; otherwise head to an official taxi stand. These buses make only a few stops, so check the walk from your stop in a map app first.

Taxis, International Taxi and ride apps late at night

Standard taxis to Seoul run on the meter from a ₩4,800 base fare, plus a night surcharge: 20% from 22:00 to 23:00, 40% from 23:00 to 02:00, and 20% from 02:00 to 04:00. One firm rule: use the official taxi stands. The airport warns that illegal call vans posing as taxis solicit passengers and overcharge. Its taxi page lists fares and stand numbers, not hours, so don't assume a cab is waiting at every hour of the night.

International Taxi is a Seoul City designated service with drivers who speak English, Chinese or Japanese. From the airport to Seoul it charges a fixed zone fare: ₩70,000 to ₩95,000 for a standard (midsize) car (seats 3, with room for 3 bags), depending on your Seoul zone. A deluxe or large car is ₩100,000 to ₩140,000; the large one takes 6 people and 6 bags. The zone fare includes tolls and has no night surcharge. Book online at least 24 hours ahead, or ask at the T1 or T2 information desk on arrival; cash, Visa, Amex and Mastercard are accepted.

Ride apps: here you only have the companies' own word. k.ride, Kakao Mobility's global app, says in its App Store listing that airport pickup reservations are available at Incheon T1 and T2, and it has an English interface. Uber's Korea page lists Uber Taxi and names Incheon Airport. If you plan to use one, install the app, add your card before you fly, and read the fare on screen before you confirm.

Booking a private transfer for a late Incheon arrival

A car booked ahead makes the most sense if you'll exit in the 2 a.m. bus gap, travel with kids or older parents, carry more bags than you want to drag through a station, or worry about delays. I'd choose between these two by group size and luggage.

Private Airport Transfer : Incheon to/from Seoul (up to 7 pax) (opens in a new tab) suits groups up to seven. The listing says your ride starts with a meet and greet at the arrival gate and runs to Seoul. It also lists 1.5 hours of waiting after landing, a basic English- or Chinese-speaking driver and all fees and taxes, with no time-of-day surcharge and no extra cost for a delayed flight if you tell them. The listing excludes baby car seats; a second pickup or drop-off is priced separately, and excess luggage may need an extra van. Its policy: cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund.

Private Incheon Airport Transfer to or from Seoul (Up to 6) (opens in a new tab) suits groups up to six heading to an address in Seoul. The listing says your driver meets you inside the terminal with a name sign, helps with luggage, and coordinates pickup if your booked flight is delayed, with no delay surcharge, and that fuel, tolls and parking are included. It excludes extra stops, places outside Seoul, and oversized luggage that needs a bigger vehicle. A booster seat costs extra, paid to the driver and requested in advance. Its policy: cancel at least 24 hours ahead for a full refund.

Your late-night plan by exit time and neighborhood

From T1 (from T2, shift buses about 20 minutes earlier and trains a few minutes earlier):

  • Out by about 22:40: the AREX Express to Seoul Station, or your regular limousine bus if it stops near your hotel.
  • Out between 22:40 and 23:30: the all-stop train to Hongik Univ., Gongdeok or Seoul Station (last one at 23:38), or the 6001, 6015 or 6002 limousines if your route's last bus hasn't gone.
  • Out between 23:30 and 02:10: the late-night bus that matches your neighborhood (the first leaves at 23:40), or a taxi from an official stand.
  • Out between 02:10 and 03:40: no late-night bus leaves T1, so plan on a car you booked ahead (International Taxi or a private transfer), or an official taxi stand.
  • Out after 03:40: late-night buses start running again, with the last at 04:50.
Incheon T1 after 10 p.m.: AREX Express last 22:48; all-stop to Seoul Station 23:38; limousines last 22:25-23:29; late-night buses 23:40-04:50, none 02:10-03:40
Out after 23:40? Your choices shrink to a late-night bus, a taxi or a booked car.

The last mile. If you're dropped at Seoul Station or another big stop after midnight, save your hotel's address in Korean to show a driver, and if you take a taxi, expect a night surcharge (the airport notes about 20 to 40% between 22:00 and 04:00). Before you fly, tell your hotel you'll check in late and screenshot the timetable you plan to use.

Your one next step: look up your terminal, then open the late-night bus page on airport.kr and match your hotel's neighborhood to one route.
